My shade is currently 106. I wanted to take a few days to try this foundation out. Now I have extremely oily skin so my skin can be picky with foundations and what it wants to allow to stay on it. I typically apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender as it helps my foundation stay matte all day. On my skin, there is no such thing as dewey. I go from matte to grease ball; I have no in between. Let's see how this foundation wore all day!
Day 1: Applied with BH Cosmetics Flat Blending Face Brush
Above: 8:30 A.M. No filters or photoshop; just a flash
(ignore my brows I've been growing them out for 6 weeks, starting from scratch)
Above & Below: 6:30 P.M. no photoshop/filters; flash only
Now as you can see, this foundation did not stay matte on my face at all. However, this foundation doesn't claim to stay matte, so I can't complain. Because of my skin type, I need a foundation that is 100% matte. By using a foundation brush, I do think this had a negative effect of how it applied. I think it took much more product to give me an even coverage. Let's see how it wears when applied with a beauty blender...
Day 2: Applied with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Above: 8:30 A.M. no photoshop/filters; flash only
Above & Below: 6:30 P.M. no photoshop/filters; flash only
(ignore the growing-in brows)
Now as you can see, it applied much nicer with a damp beauty blender. It gave me a much more flawless coverage using less product and I looked more matte to begin with. However, it still did not stay matte on my face as the day progressed; but again, it is not a matte foundation. It does become more dewy as the day goes on.
Final Review:
After wearing this product for a few days, seeing how it wears, and applying it 2 different wears, I would have to say that I would not wear this foundation again.
HOWEVER, I DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. Now that is probably weird to some of you, but here's why I think this product is worth it. First off, this product is definitely affordable, which is always a plus. I think when applied correctly, it provides full, flawless, and even coverage. I also think the range of undertones in the line makes this usable for most consumers. For people with oily skin, you might want to stay away from this foundation, or maybe only use it in the cooler months when our skin tends to be more dry. If you have normal to dry skin, or like foundations with a dewy finish than I think you would really like this product. While I did not like the foundation for myself personally, I did really like the creaminess and smoothness of the foundation, the pump dispenser, and the buildable coverage. I think this foundation would work on many people and I think this would really help and makeup artist looking to build their kit.
